"As we abide in the Christmas season, cast off your chains."~janitor

We are blessed to live in a land with religious freedom and may find it hard to imagine a "brother in Christ" being held captive in chains because of his faith in Jesus Christ.  Believe it.  People all over the world are even today, being tortured and held captive by others of confusion and darkness.  Pray for them as you enjoy this incredibly blessed season.

Even as we pray for others held in physical chains, consider how you may have allowed your personal freedom of Spiritual expression to be held captive.  A good place to start is to be supersensitized when someone wishes you, "happy holiday".  Although it is a happy time for us as Christians, I think it offensive to "dis" Jesus by ignoring the reason for the season.  So aggressively and passionately tell the happy holiday well wisher, "Merry Christmas and God Bless!"

As we look to the new year, consider how else your Spiritual freedom of expression has been chained.  Are you too busy?  Is your life too routine?  Does your automatic garage door opener shield you from the neighbors?  To be the Church is to be intentional about who you are in the Church and especially outside the doors.

"Merry Christmas and God Bless!"~priest

"Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my Good News, in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained. Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."~paul
