Get past the blah, blah, blah of life, think about it: "GIFT OF GOD"!

Paul: "I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline". 

This excites me!  Can you imagine?  Sitting in a chair facing Paul.  He looks you in the eyes.  His face is scarred from the many beatings and stoning he has endured.  His nose is crooked from being broken.  His hands are as rough as a stone masons.  But it is his smile that captivates you.  It is full of love....

He leans over and places his hands on your shoulders.  He begins praying in the name of Jesus, asking specifically that God will give you a bold spirit, full of power, love and self-discipline.  Then you feel the warm of God flow through you and you know, that you know, beyond any shadow of doubt, you will never be the same person.  Can you imagine?  

God has not changed.  If He is in you, His power is resident, also.  As Paul says, "fan the flame".
