Suppose by coincidence and having nothing to do with your opportunity to speak, you were a virologist and you recently discovered the vaccine for AIDS. Or possibly, you have successfully genetically altered a kernel of corn so it would grow in dry soil and the world could be fed. Would it be easy to know what message you would bring?
I am thinking about Bubba. He had an opportunity to share his most important message to about a thousand people one day and died in a motorcycle accident before he had an opportunity to share it a second time. Would his message have changed if he knew it was his last? I don't think so.
He shared what he thought was the most important message he could share. The message was that Christ died for an ugly mean guy like him and changed him into a new person in the image of Christ. A miracle had occurred and his life proved it out.
Then, I think about the thousands of sermons I have heard. My dad was a pastor, so I heard a bunch. I wonder if the message delivered in today's world, by the clergy of the world, is the most important message they could deliver. Or do they seemingly waste time talking about things further down the list because they have grown tired of talking about the most important message of a lifetime?
What are you passionate about? What message would you bring?
